The Lutheran Homes Society was organized in 1885 through the efforts of Reverend Henry Reinemund. Mrs. Elizabeth Hershey, wife of a wealthy lumberman, donated her large country home and five acres of land to be used for the care of orphaned children.
Volunteers connect residents to the broader community, and enable Lutheran Living to offer a wide range of activities for residents. These activities help build a strong neighborhood at Lutheran Living.
